initial commit (stuff)

This is a place for notes, half-formed thoughts, and things I’ve built, broken, or thought about long enough that they felt worth writing down.

I’m Ross. I’ve spent the last 15-ish years working in startups and scale-ups, mostly building software, sometimes leading teams, and often doing both at the same time. A lot of that’s been in London. The first startup I joined was DueDil, back around 2010, when there were three of us in a slightly grim office above a Costa in Soho. It was exactly what you’d expect.

Since then I’ve worked across a mix of products and companies, from early “does this even work?” stages through to systems that actually have to scale and not fall over.

Some of this will be technical. Some of it will be about teams, leadership, and how work actually gets done. Some of it will just be things I’m curious about at the time.

There’s no grand plan for this blog. It’s mostly a place to think out loud and keep track of ideas so they don’t disappear into Slack, Notion, or the back of my brain.

More soon, probably.

Keep exploring
